Interview on Malaysia's Public Sector OSS program
In an interview with CENATIC, a Malaysian government official talks about how the country uses FLOSS to modernise its public sector. She discusses the benefits of FLOSS both to the government and to Malaysian businesses.
In the interview, which is available in Spanish and English, Mrs Tan King Ing, Deputy Director of the Open Source Competency Centre in Malaysia's Administration Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), describes the role FLOSS has played in the modernisation of the country's public sector since 2002. She argues that FLOSS not only gives public bodies strategic independence in their ICT planning, but also helps them to save on technology costs.
